Hagane. Hag, Hagsy, Haggie/Haggy/Haggi... Whatever floats your boat.
25+, she/her (they/them is fine too), lesbian, Finland. Some weirdo who studied Japanology (Japanese language and culture) in university in the past. Main interests are Japanese culture (especially popular culture like anime, manga, games and cosplay), and some other random things. I've got also a special corner in my heart for early modern Japanese literature and history, which I scream about often. Bungou to Alchemist (BunAl or BunAru) is my main interest media (especially the game), and I moderate and translate stuff for the English wiki.🌸 I mainly tweet in English or Japanese, but once in a year there might be some Finnish tweets. I have mostly English-speaking mutuals (who aren't native English speakers either), but I also interact with Japanese fandoms actively.⚠️ You are free to follow, block, unfollow, as long as you acknowledge what you are doing (preferably read BYF page first).※ Please do not repost, copy, trace or use my art and/or anything I post! I also do not support AI art or allow my works to be used for training such.

BEFORE YOU FOLLOW

  • I'm fine with BL / GL / HL / yume! If you've got something against any of them, quietly consider backing off (I don't really yume or have that many straight ships myself, though. I just passively consume such stuff).

  • I ship characters, escpecially M x M. I don't really hate any ships, but there are ones I don't fancy that much. I accept different tastes and opinions, though, so ship whatever you want! However, I tend to follow the Asian way of naming ships (first mentioned chara "top", second chara "bottom"), so I hope you will respect that and possibly use "proper" shipnames too (in other words AxB is completely different ship than BxA even if it features same characters). As I interact with Japanese fandoms, I follow their protocol to avoid trouble and prevent people (and myself) from seeing content/dynamics of characters they don't like, so this is why I had to mention this.

  • If you are minor, consider twice before following. In some cases I might block minors or even adults who show signs of not being mature enough to be on the internet (this is no joke). However, in general I don't want to be too mean to youngsters, so if you are aware of that I'm already an adult living on my own and posting content I like, follow on your own discreet.

  • In general I don't follow back. Even if we share fandoms, I'm really selective and might not return the "favor" unless if you clearly like same characters/content as me.

  • I try to keep my social media accounts SFW, however at times I might post or like something suggestive, so please be aware of that. I don't post anything R18 though and if there's any, they are behind a link with warnings (so you won't see directly anything on your timeline).

  • I curse a lot (blaming my genes and the fact how I'm Finnish) and I might say things that sound harsh, but I don't really like to hurt people. 99.9% of the times I talk rather nonchalantly, even during serious moments, so read my posts/messages in neutral or more like relaxed tone. I'm seriously a softie and crybaby who loves people, but might seem scary and aggressive on the internet due to English not being my first language and communicating with words having its own challenges. If you feel threatened by my words, please tell me and I'll try to tone it down!

  • I don't like drama, so I don't really interact with big fandoms or otherwise troublesome people despite being into some popular series/games. I don't want drama on my TL either, so if you are part of certain fandoms or friends with "troublesome" people, don't expect me to follow back.

  • Like earlier mentioned, I don't belong to any subs on social media and particularly not the fandoms of games/series I'm into beside BunAl. I just chill in my own comfortable bubble consisting mostly of BunAl fans (both Japanese and fellow foreigners, but the joke is that there is no such a thing as "BunAl Twitter" if we talk about Twitter).

  • As long as you behave like a reasonable, normal human, you are fine in my books even if you ship problematic stuff (I don't care what you are into, I'll block you if I don't like you or I'll just mute the tags I don't like seeing). If you think fiction reflects 100% what people are into and/or are like in real life, and you harass people over fiction depicting morally bad/questionable things, you can just stay away from me and the games/series I'm into. I think that people are allowed to play around with forbidden topics in fiction. That's what fiction exists for; to escape reality, to explore how or what things would be like if they could exist (but for reasons actually can't and actually shouldn't exist).

  • I dislike reposters (of art and other content), and people who make it clear when they are doing something illegal (watching anime or reading manga on illegal sites, post content that is against platform's ToS etc.). If you do such, don't expect me to like seeing that on my timeline. I might warn you, and in the worst case even report the content if you do it frequently or cause trouble.

  • I'm BunAl main (since 2016). I talk about the series and literature overall quite a lot. If you aren't fine with the troublesome sides of the irl authors or overall me talking about them, think twice before following me! History and literature are close to my heart, so obviously I like series like BunAl which allows me to make use of canon materials in "fictional environment". Oh, also. Don't follow me in hopes of seeing talk about the BunAl anime; you won't see anything about it. I only talk about the game and Bungekis (as the anime was a shame to the whole BunAl franchise).

  • Meanwhile I like some other series and games too, I'm dedicated for BunAl and Japanese literature for now. Don't expect to see content of any other games or series that often (or at all).

LIKES

BunAl favs → Srkb squad, especially Shiga, Takeo and Ton. Doppo, Naoki and Bimei get special mentions.❤️ Fav BunAl ships ⇒ ShigaTon (>>Introduction<<), Dottake (>>Introduction<<).Other Srkb-related ships are also good, like MushaTake, ShigaAri (or ShigaTake), ShigaTonMusha 3P etc. AkuTon is a big guilty ship of mine I like thanks to Aktgw's certain writings, and both having interesting interaction both irl and in the game.I'm quite a multishipper and there aren't BunAl ships I would hate in fact. Of course some aren't really my cup of tea and you are free to ship them, I won't come bite you. Unless if it's TonTake/TakeTon, which is a big nope to me for obvious reasons. I also have bad experiences with hardcore ShigaMusha shippers, so that ship doesn't really hit me the same way it did before certain things started happening in the JP side of fandom in late 2019.--->FURTHER BUNAL TALK HERE<---Like earlier mentioned, I like a lot of other games and anime/manga series too, but I won't bother to list them as I won't really talk about them on this account. If you like Yume100/Yumekuro, don't hesitate to ask for my sideaccount dedicated for them. Other stuff I like don't have dedicated accounts, I just enjoy them all alone or with few close friends.

ME & BUNAL

Bungou to Alchemist has been close to my heart since the game's early days (November 2016), and obviously I've spent huge amount of money and time on the series. I also have dedicated a lot of time on the BunAl English Wiki (>>My wiki profile<<), where I provide translations and other content (updates, sprites, in-game stories, trivia...).Due to the series trying to be loyal representation of real people, I've tried my best to be careful with my words on social media and inform about that both new and old fans. Avoiding to use full names of the authors is an unspoken rule that got established already in 2016 when the game was still new, but especially in March 2017 it got further support due to certain incident. Since then, the fandom has been this way. BunAl fans, especially in Japanese fandom, use abbreviations or nicknames when talking about the BunAl characters and usually even the irl authors. I tend to use such too, especially in the case of authors who have names heavily associated only with them. Some authors have more common names who I might talk about without abbreviations, but I NEVER use full names (Surname + First name for Japanese authors, or First name + Surname for western authors). If I ever use full names, that is purely in literature or academic context not associated with BunAl at all (though I avoid academic author talk on Twitter nevertheless).I get easily frustrated if I see fellow BunAl fans who mix fiction with real people's names, so if you talk about the BunAl characters (or other bungou series' characters) using full names on social media, I might come and ask you to stop doing that. It's in order to keep Google search clean from 2D guys (so everyone can research the irl authors easier), but also to avoid BunAl game and anime staff, who tend to search and look at tags etc. Ever since Bungeki and the anime, there has been more and more relatives of the authors involved too, and I don't want them to see 2D porn or other weird talk about their deceased relatives, who deserve to rest in peace. That's why I keep asking people to use abbreviations or nicknames in case of most of BunAl characters. If you aren't sure about some abbreviations or want to learn more, don't hesitate to ask me or other old fans who hang around the BunAl wiki's staff!Quick notelist

  • As the whole BunAl franchise's setting is about the authors (characters) being reincarnations of the real life authors sharing same name as them, I treat them like that according to the lore. They have certain memories of their previous life, some remember more than others. Some have scars or other physical appearance related features they got transmigrated with even if they don't look anywhere near the same as the real authors. Some have traumas, mental illnesses or anything that can carry over if you could be able to continue your life in another body. Though, while the authors in BunAl are like this, they are still characters to us; a work of fiction, they aren't real. There is a team of people at DMM who determine how these characters are presented to us, what do they do, how much do they resemble their namesake real life authors and so on. Which is why the characters need to be separated from the real authors. I do this, especially in Japanese by using abbreviations and nicknames. And if I talk about the real authors, I tend to use nickname/abbreviation and add 先生 (sensei) to the name to add more respectful tone to it while staying undercover from regular people (I don't want normal people to see my takes on the irl authors and expose them to all the BunAl stuff you can see if you look at my SNS accounts).

  • I don't like some of the "incorrect" takes that BunAl has on some of the irl authors, so in cases like that I might completely ignore some of the "incorrect" things, and replace them with my own knowledge to make the characters feel closer to the irl authors. Despite this, the characters are still 2D, they are fiction. And everyone have their own tastes or views on how they see the irl authors, which I respect.

  • I'm a huge Srkb fan, and especially love Shiga (mostly as an author). The Arsm bros are just pure love in many ways and I love rambling about them. I could say that Takeo is my ultimate favorite, Ton right behind. Seriously, I don't talk about that many authors beside them, as I've dedicated my time and money for the Srkb authors.

  • I don't talk about the anime almost at all, so don't expect anything from me related to it. I disliked it for many reasons, only the OP was good. But mostly it was just big a shame for the BunAl franchise and waste of money in general.

  • I don't really fancy "popular" authors, or ones that are also in Bungou Stray Dogs (Doppo is an exception). If you are a fan of them, I'm fine with it and I don't hate BSD btw (I used to be a big fan of the series, but stopped liking it because of the fandom and the manga's writing just got ridiculous). For this reason I might not be suitable person to follow if you like those characters/authors, as I don't really talk/tweet about them. Or if I do, I tend to clown about them just like pretty much any author including my favs (this happens mostly on BunAl wiki's Discord server, though).

  • Like earlier pointed out, I clown authors a lot. If you don't like to see your fav author being made fun of because of some irl facts, or things they've done in the game or other BunAl media, think twice before following me. I respect the irl authors (and the characters) though, no matter how much I clown or "dislike" some.

  • I ship quite a bit of authors and have some ship to pretty much all authors. Some I ship with many, while some are just limited to one or very few selected ones. And as you can guess, I'm heavily Srkb-oriented with my ships too and I've stated all my ships on the >>likes<< page. However, outside of the list there are a bunch I also ship, but not actively or as my "main" ones, which is why I don't really want to mention them. There is no point in advertising ships you don't really actively consume or talk about.

SHIGATON INTRODUCTION

💚 >>Shiga's profile on BunAl Wiki<<
💙 >>Ton's profile on BunAl Wiki<<

IRL FACTS※Facts below are short summary of some stuff that can also be found from BunAl wiki's trivia for these two (I'm the one who wrote all of Ton's trivia, and most of Shiga's too).

  • They were childhood friends in real life, meeting sometime around 1894. First the two got to know each other through Ton's big brother Ikuma, who was Shiga's classmate.

  • Later on they became good friends, maybe a little too close, which caused them to have fights. Some people at the time also thought they were in a relationship, because of how close they were and often did things together.

  • While neither identified themselves as gay, Ton admitted in multiple works how during his younger years he had had a crush on Shiga. However, he was glad how they never ended up in a relationship, because he feared that he could have never become a writer. Shiga on the other hand never seemed to have any clear romantic feelings towards him, but was very possessive and selfish towards him for some years due to being "delusional" about their friendship and Ton's limits, which was one of the reasons why the two started fighting. Musha has also confirmed Shiga's selfishness being limited to Ton only, as other Srkb guys didn't experience such behavior from him.

  • Ton was the one to initiate end for their friendship in summer of 1916 after several years of constant quarreling over trivial problems, but Shiga refused. Roughly a month later, though, he changed his mind after reading Ton's certain work which infuriated him and he officially sealed the break-off. In late 1923, they became friends again and their friendship lasted until Shiga's death in 1971. Ton was in charge of Shiga's funeral.

  • One of Shiga's students, who was also acquaintanced with Ton, crowned Ton as Shiga's "most closest friend".

BUNAL FACTS

  • Ton was added to the game in November 27th, 2019, unlike Shiga who had been in the game since launch.

  • Ton's character design was made to be a mix of Shiga and Takeo's. The similarites he has with Shiga: both have piercings (Ton has two on both ears, Shiga has two only on his right ear), their bows while wearing Weapon Rings are very similar by design, they wear gloves unlike Musha or Takeo. On top of the earlier points, they also have each others' image colors as very small highlights in their eyes (Shiga has light blue highlights, while Ton's are green). In comparison, Musha and Takeo's highlights in eyes are pink.

  • In Shiga's special birthday recollection (>>Preview of the recollection<<), the two had had a fight. Shiga opens up to Takeo, while Ton seeks advice from Musha. In the end, Shiga and Ton reconcile to team up against Musha, Takeo and Takiji in a snowball fight and win despite the fight being 2 vs. 3 members.

  • In Ton's special birthday recollection (>>Preview of the recollection<<), Shiga admits how he can be his "true self" with Ton and vent to him (vs. Shiga acting cool and strong in front of Musha, and many others).

  • In the event story >>White Birch's This and That About Art<<, the Srkb group talks about art and later Shiga gets an idea to start practise drawing/painting, which Ton teases him about at first, but is willing to support him and he wants to see Shiga's works displayed in an art exhibition.

  • Shiga and Ton have appeared in three Memoria Cards together: first in >>Takiji's card<<, then in >>Shiga's card<<. Latest >>Ton's card<< is the only card so far where the two are alone together.

  • Bungeki 7 (in other words the seventh stage play) had Ton's relationship with Shiga as a secondary plot (main plot was Takiji's rescue mission). After what happened with him and Shiga in previous life, in this life in the library, certain things have haunted him (their fights, Ton's writings about Shiga) and shaken his "love" (admiration, respect and affection) towards the man. Taints quickly get a grasp of his negative feelings, and his notable work in which Shiga's near-death accident is handled becomes tainted. For the rest of the stage play, the work is handled on the background as being purified by Ton, his brother and Takamura, who understands the pain and price of loving someone. The stage play has many moments, which imply Ton's deep affection towards Shiga, and it quickly got many BunAl fans' attention as the stage play also referenced several of Ton's biographical works.

DOTTAKE INTRODUCTION

🩷 >>Doppo's profile on BunAl Wiki<<
💜 >>Takeo's profile on BunAl Wiki<<

IRL FACTS※Facts below are short summary of some stuff that can also be found from BunAl wiki's trivia for these two (I'm the one who wrote most of their trivias for the wiki).

  • Doppo and Takeo never met in real life, as Doppo passed away in 1908. During that time, Takeo wasn't a writer yet, but a fresh teacher in Hokkaido. However, Takeo got to know some of Doppo's friends when he finally became a full-time writer years later.

  • Upon hearing news of Doppo's death, Takeo praised the man and seemed regretful how he had discovered Doppo's works only recently. Doppo ended up being one of the few Japanese writers who he really admired, which was rare for him as he mostly revered foreign writers.

  • It's unclear how well Takeo was acquaintanced with Doppo's ex-wife Sasaki Nobuko, or if they even met face to face. In his most famous work "A Certain Woman", he depicts Nobuko's life from the disastrous marriage with Doppo to her fleeing to America to marry Takeo's old classmate. However, she never got married with the man, and came back to Japan with another man; the purser of the ship from Japan to America, and back. Second half of the story is purely fiction, but the first half is mostly true story and there are also scenes where a character based on Takeo himself talks with Nobuko.

BUNAL FACTS

  • Doppo was one of the initial 35 writers in the game available at launch, and Takeo was added in April 12th, 2017. He was overall third additional writer at the time.

  • Upon the announcement of Takeo getting added to the game, people right away paid attention to his jacket which is short similarly to Doppo's. Their overall similar outfits and the fact that Takeo had written a work about Doppo's ex-wife made fans to speculate if they would get along or not. Many thought Doppo would be bitter and even hostile towards Takeo. But after the day came when Takeo finally became transmigrateable, the truth was the exact opposite to many people's surprise and the guys get along well.

  • In their >>Tainted Book recollection<<, Doppo acknowledges that after his death, Takeo had written a work depicting him and his ex-wife, and Doppo seems rather amused about it.

  • In Doppo's special birthday recollection, Doppo and Takeo talk about Kajii's "special skill" of him having heard how Doppo's moon zither (yueqin) had been out of tune the previous night. This leads them to talk about their skills, but Takeo himself believes that doesn't have any special skill. Doppo insists that he has one, and the conclusion is that animals love Takeo and he attracts them. Recently he also had helped Shimei (in Shimei's special birthday recollection) to learn methods how to approach and get along with cats. Takeo soon demonstrates his skill, as Roka's pet cuckoo bird Toto ends up interrupting the two.

  • Doppo and Takeo have appeared together only in one >>Doppo's Memoria Card<<, in which Shimei shows up with them.

  • In Bungeki 2 (second Bungou to Alchemist Stage Play), the two have a little interaction. Most notable scene is after their first delve to purify Takeo's "The Descendants of Cain", which had been tainted and Takeo comes back from the delve wounded. Doppo is concerned of Takeo's wellbeing and immediately rushes to greet and ask how the other man is doing when he finally gets out from the infirmary. Takeo insists that he's just a no one that Doppo should worry about, but Doppo thinks that he matters and that God had been on his side so he could come back from the delve. This leaves Takeo a little embarrassed, but soon he is chased by Touson and his invasive questions.
